accomplish this, EBS has contracted New Zealand’s
best yacht designers, boat builders, engineers and sail-makers
to create and use innovative new technology in every
facet of the yacht.
Maximus features:

The
Team
The idea of building
and campaigning a new Super Maxi was conceived last
year between two New Zealand businessmen, Charles Brown
and Bill Buckley. Respectively, they set up ESVYL (E
Sport Ventures Yachting Limited) and BYL (Buckley Yachting
Limited), which they merged in a joint initiative to
become EBS Yachting.

Charles Brown - Owner / Manager
Charles is an experienced
ocean racer and has competed successfully on the International
circuit. He has previously owned and raced a broad range
of race yachts. His current yacht ‘Antaeus’
(a Davidson 65 pocket maxi), holds the Auckland-Fiji
and Auckland-Port Villa South Pacific race records.
Based in Auckland and a lawyer by profession, he is
also the Chairman of National Equity Limited and the
PSB Group of companies.

Bill Buckley - Owner /Manager
Bill is the owner and
Managing Director of Buckley Systems Limited, one of
the worlds leading precision Engineering and Nuclear
physics companies. His company is involved in the R&D
of a number of projects including amphibious vehicles,
racing motorcycles and leisure craft. A former New Zealand
motorcycle champion, he is also a keen offshore sailor.

George Hendy - The Project manager
George Hendy is the project
manager and sailing master. An industry professional
and highly proficient sailor, his vast experience includes
competing in the Whitbread, the 50-foot circuit and
Kenwood Cup. George was also the shore manager for GBR
syndicate in the last America’s cup.
