The Rolex Transatlantic Challenge is Underway

After being delayed
due to bad weather the 2005 Rolex Transatlantic Challenge
is underway.
The 20 strong fleet crossed the start line in New York
Harbor in light winds to get the start of the 2005 Transatlantic
Challenge officially underway. After not competing at
Antigua this is the first competitive international
event for both Maximus and her crew and they have their
sights firmly set on the 13 days, 10 hours and 15 minute
race record.
The EBS Team regard this as one of the most important
events in their 2005 campaign and are looking to get
their season of to a positive start and pick up a good
result in what has now become their opening race of
the campaign.
Maximus
rival Mari-Cha IV currently sits in 1st place after
just a few hours of racing and is considered along with
Maximus to be the pre race favorite. Maximus is sitting
comfortably is second keeping pace with the leader with
the third of the Grand Prix class boats Carrera currently
third.
