Conditions Take Their Toll

What a night! After going through the front again the headboard car got smashed to bits but Bill Buckley got to work and he devised a way to fix what most people would have just thrown away! Essentially we have drilled and bolted the remains of the old car then bound it up with layers of Dinex.

We finally got the main re-hoisted at 8am this morning after a very rough night. The sea state was terrible to say the least and it took until 10am today before it started to flatten out enough to really get going.

All our wind gear was blown off during the night so I can only guess the speed and direction now.
I would say we have about 15-18kts from about 140true.

Reaching now at 16.5 knots with JT and staysail. Bursting at times to 20 knots so the miles are going down reasonably quickly at long last. Please God keep us in this wind and provide some reasonable sea state.

We have started now logging our 24 hour runs so will keep you informed about the numbers. At this rate we should make the Lizard sometime Wednesday morning and be in by dark.
