Racing postponed at Skandia Cowes Week - Day 6

Racing has been postponed on a day which will see the “Big Boats” go head to head in preparation for the Fastnet Race on August 7th. ICAP Maximus and Skandia Wild Thing were scheduled to compete in the Open 60 Round The Island Race but due to light wind conditions the fleet have to deal with on day 6 of Cowes Week the event has been changed to an out-and-back race to Poole Bar, with a committee vessel accompanying in case of further course alterations.

The wind at Cowes is currently west-north-westerly, with a mean speed of around 5.7kts. As the day progresses it is expected to back into the south-west and strengthen to around 15kts, promising a good afternoon's racing at Skandia Cowes Week.

Stay tuned for further updates as we get closer to a start time currently scheduled for 11:10 as this is sure to be an exciting hard fought event.
